When Matt was 24, his father and both his grandfathers died in the same year. “While I was cleaning out their houses, I was lost and grieving,” said Matt. “I didn’t know what to do with all the stuff. There was no book about it.” That’s when Matt decided to dedicate his career to helping people, and he wrote the downsizing best seller: Keep the Memories and Lose the Stuff.
Matt has over 25 years of experience cleaning estates. He spent 14 seasons on the hit series Hoarders and is currently the host of PBS’s Legacy List. He is an author, public speaker, and the nation’s top authority on downsizing. Matt's experience and name recognition are the key ingredients to create a successful franchising business designed to support the aging population.
